Who we are
Mind Innovation and Health Reform Africa (MIHRA)
At MIHRA (Mind Innovation and Health Reform Africa), we are committed to transforming mental health in Africa through research, advocacy, digital innovation, and community-driven initiatives. Our objectives reflect a world-class approach to creating sustainable, scalable, and impactful digital mental health solutions for African youth.
Problem History
Mental health is an under-prioritised topic in many parts of Africa, with the impact affecting mostly young people. Limited access to quality healthcare services and harmful laws such as the criminalisation of attempted suicide have increased mental health conditions in many parts of Africa. MIHRA was launched in 2024 by Wellcore Health Initiative, a non-profit registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria, to close the gap in accessing mental healthcare among youths in universities and provide safe spaces and support groups for African youths.
Our Vision
To revolutionise mental health in Africa by creating a future where every young person thrives and contributes meaningfully to society.
Our Mission
We revolutionise mental health in Africa through research, advocacy, and digital innovation. By breaking barriers and creating accessible solutions, we empower young minds to thrive.
Meet the Team
Our team is comprised of diverse and creative young people in Media, Law, Tech, Public Health, Research, and non-profit, with a passion for health reforms and innovative ways of addressing mental health challenges in Africa.
